QUEERCIRCLE ACCESSIBILITY POLICY

At QUEERCIRCLE we are committed to providing an inclusive and accessible environment for all individuals, regardless of their abilities or disabilities. We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing process and we are dedicated to continually improving our policies and practices to ensure that everyone can fully participate in and enjoy our exhibitions and events.

 

Physical Accessibility

We strive to provide a physical environment that is accessible to all visitors. This includes:

    • Offering ground-level, step-free access to our exhibition and library space.
    • Offering elevator access to our project space located on the first floor.
    • Providing accessible restrooms for all genders on every floor of our venues.
    • Providing folding chairs or other forms of seating at every venue.
    • Welcoming assistive animal at our spaces and events.
    • Designating drop-off zones and parking spots within the Design District for visitors with disabilities on Phoenix Avenue which is 160 meters away

 

EXHIBITION & EVENTS ACCESSIBILITY

We provide scannable QR codes at our exhibitions which integrate with accesseible web application for audio descriptions of the artwork and exhibition text. We provide closed captioning for our online events and screenings. Please speak to a member of staff or email hello@queercircle.org should you have further access requirements.

 

WEBSITE ACCESSIBILITY 

We are committed to making our website’s content accessible and user friendly to everyone and are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website. We are working towards achieving the standards required for compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA using working practice recommended by the WebAIM's WCAG 2 checklist.


RECOMMENDATIONS

We recommend using the latest version of assistive technology applications and web browsers as required. This website allows you to personalize the presentation and style of content by using the controls provided within your web browser or extensions to suit your needs, this may include increasing text size and modifying text contrast. Keeping your browser up-to-date will ensure that you have the widest range of accessibility options.

This website may include content provided by third-parties. While we do not control content from third party vendors, we strongly encourage vendors of third-party digital content to provide content that is accessible and user friendly.
