As part of the archival process to record this work on the last day of the exhibition, Michaela invites black and POC queer people to have their portraits taken in the space by the acclaimed photographer Bernice Mulenga. The resulting images will provide personal mementos as well as reflections through which to view and interpret the invitation offered by this inaugural work; to rest, contemplate and connect.

POC queer participants centred but welcome to all
About the artist:
Bernice Mulenga is an interdisciplinary artist, who prioritises the use of analogue processes in their work. They have a knack for archiving, documenting and asking questions. Mulenga’s work centres on their community and the experiences within it —most notably in their ongoing photo series #friendsonfilm. Their work also explores reoccurring themes surrounding their identity, sexuality, grief, family, and Congolese culture.
