I joined QueerCircle in March as a Programmes Assistant.
My passion in working for the Queer community began while starting my career as a tattoo artist, where I found the art rewarding as a method of liberation and body reclamation for the trans community, and I have used it as a tool for fundraising for gender affirming procedures for trans individuals.
Alongside working at QueerCircle, I am part of a team founding FORT, a non-profit trans-run tattoo studio and community space, focussing on consent-led, trauma-informed and accessibility-centred values.
My career started in the education and environment charity sector. While transitioning I found that these sectors could be unwelcoming to trans individuals, and so moved to the more queer-friendly arts sector working at the Barbican centre and in queer nightlife yet craved impactful work. Being an active part of the London trans community has reignited my passion for building community and creating positive change. Through my work as a trans artist and at QueerCircle I hope to contribute to the importance of the arts in queer health and community creation.
