I’m Ola, my pronouns are they/them and I joined Queercircle as gallery manager. I hope to expand my passion and dedication for contemporary visual arts and performance arts within the queer community while working here. I also want to put my experience to profit and champion emerging artists from the LGBTQIA+ art scene and support them with arts management and production.
I am committed to elevating groups at Queercircle, including the Latinx community of which I am part, via the Catalyst programme. This programme aims to give a platform and provide curatorial guidance and technical support to artists and groups who have not yet had this experience. Ensuring members get the exposure they deserve amongst the queer art scene and in a city like London. But also via the Open programme which allows collectives and groups in formation to host events and grow.
My biggest commitment includes community building and event organisation. As part of this, I frequently collaborate with grassroot entities such as FiBRA, an itinerant residency and research platform exploring materials, and Riposte, a queer techno art rave based in London hosting monthly ephemeral exhibitions with emerging artists and DJs.
I love making new connections and discovering new bodies of work. In my free time, you'll find me making a zine, attending local community events and workshops, supporting protests and partying at queer raves.
