I have worked in the arts for over 10 years’. I am currently the Managing Director at Gasworks and Triangle Network, Board Member at Queercircle and I hold a Masters in Curating from Chelsea College of Art. Until recently I was also the co-chair of Deptford X arts festival and volunteered as an advisor for the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre. Prior to joining Gasworks, I worked at Matt’s Gallery and the Tate Modern where I supported the Tanks 2012 live performance and film programme, as well as supporting the development of the new Tate Modern capital project.
In 2018, I started iheartwomen.co.uk an online platform dedicated to championing the work of women/womxn, through discussion, interviews and conversations. My website acts as an archive and online resource, documenting and capturing the important stories and achievements of those self-identifying women and non-binary individuals.
I am personally interested in participation and education in the arts, specifically focusing on developing DIY cultural projects. My research looks at the intersection between the arts, social action and radical learning practices, specifically around diversity and collaboration within the LGBTQ+ community. I am a member of an evaluation research group of educators and policy makers, which supports artists who work within social practice and communities.
My hope is for QUEERCIRCLE to become internationally recognised as a leading LGBTQ+ arts organisation. To be at the forefront of discussion and debate around queer perspectives, to support underrepresented artists, activists, community members, curators and writers, to inspire and foster artistic expression and freedom of speech and to bring together the community across London.
