  • QUEERCIRCLE is proud to be hosting the Queer Youth Art Collective (QYAC) as part of its CATALYST programme. For their month-long takeover, QYAC will present ‘Tendrils’, an exhibition of over 50 young LGBTQIA artists from across the UK.

The exhibition has been produced and curated by the participating QYAC members and will include a wide spectrum of mediums including textile, photography, painting, film, sculpture, drawing, and installations

The body of work on show will tell personal stories and shared experiences, from envisaging the logistics of lesbian cruising to exploring the architecture of rooms for intimacy and celebrating black and brown trans women.

Frederik Andersson, Director & Facilitator at QYAC said: “The show serves as a moment of education and learning for the participants. No judging panel or selection process was put in place, instead, all of the artists who submitted their work received support. For the visitor, it serves as evidence that more opportunities should be available for these groups in the UK, not only for young people in London. LGBTQIA+ young people want more, deserve more.

  • ABOUT QUEER YOUTH ART COLLECTIVE

    ABOUT QUEER YOUTH ART COLLECTIVE

Queer Youth Art Collective (QYAC) has run workshops from London and over ZOOM for young people 18-26 since August 2019. The project delivers newly commissioned workshops by LGBTQ artists and artist development for attendees to discuss their practice and socialise.

Our primary aims are to challenge isolation, provide free and engaging arts workshops and build skills and infrastructure for a resilient, peer-led LGBTQ arts and education culture in London and throughout the UK.
