• HELP US BECOME
    COMMUNITY POWERED

We’re calling on our community to help sustain our year-round programme.

Throughout Pride Month, we aim to recruit 200 Friends of QUEERCIRCLE who can donate £5 a month.

As part of our ongoing commitment to ethical fundraising, we’ve made the difficult decision to end our relationship with one of our funders.Together, we can raise £1,000 each month which would cover this loss of funding and keep our programmes free for everyone. Now more than ever, your support helps us stay true to our values and keep our work going.

We’re proud of the work we’re doing— but we’re also acutely aware of the shifting political and economic environment:

    • Hostile political rhetoric and regressive legislation are fuelling a climate of fear and erasure for LGBTQIA+ people.

    • Rising costs and dwindling public funding are making it harder to sustain venues outside the commercial mainstream.

    • Cultural censorship is pushing out experimental, radical, and non-commercial voices — the very voices our communities need to thrive.
  • At a time when LGBTQIA+ people, queer spaces and cultural institutions are facing growing threats, your donations help us strengthen our solidarity and resistance.

We believe in the radical potential of the arts for individual, collective and societal transformation. Specifically, communities need us to be explicit about our politics; and to deliver a programme that supports and empowers them in theirs. To realise this potential, we believe the sector needs long-term structural change.

We take a critical and ethical approach to fundraising to avoid any form of pinkwashing and have declined sponsorship from several global corporations for this reason. Our Ethical Fundraising Policy can be found here.

At present, we are fortunate that approximately 70% of our costs are covered by funders, trusts and foundations who share these values.

Our ambition is to create a people powered institution and raise the remaining 30% with the support of our communities and allies.
