Having opened our new home in June 2022, QUEERCIRCLE seeks to develop an ecology of artists, curators, writers, thinkers, community organisers, grassroots organisations and charities who collectively work together to reimagine the role cultural spaces play in society.

Our exhibition commissions, archive exhibitions, participatory residencies, learning and workplace opportunities, and health and wellbeing programmes provide holistic support to LGBTQ+ and local communities at a time when our government is not only failing us, but actively harming us. Reclaiming space and delivering a programme as ambitious as ours in this climate is therefore a political act.

But this is also a place for us to come together, to rest, be joyful and celebrate the incredible talent of LGBTQ+ people.

We are here to stay, and we will continue to listen, and build in response to the needs of our communities.. This is not about short term rewards, this is about long term systemic change for us and future LGBTQ+ people.

With the support of Greater London Authority, Outset's Studiomakers Initiative we've secured a five-year lease on a new site designed by award-winning David Kohn Architects.

Set in the pioneering Design District in North Greenwich, our gallery, library and project spaces are fully wheelchair-accessible, enabling us to action our ground-breaking community focused programme of exhibition commissions, collaborative artists residencies and year-long learning and participation opportunities.

The Design District is built to minimise energy consumption & carbon footprint (our building is BREEAM certified), fulfilling our environmental commitments as one of the first third sector organisations to join the Gallery Climate Coalition.
