As a gay man from the Caribbean, much of who I am, what I care about, what I stand for and what I value has been shaped by my sexuality. Through navigating this experience and reaching a point where I can live fully as my authentic self, I’ve developed a deep appreciation and gratitude for the entire LGBTQ+ community. I understand that I can only walk this path because of the courage, tenacity and resilience of other queer people. Therefore, I see this as another opportunity to contribute my time, network and experience. Also, I’m inspired by the determination and passion of Ashley, the founder of QUEERCIRCLE, who continues to pour his heart and soul into bringing this to life.
